The Hexologists, the first title in this delightful series, was one of my favorite reads of 2023. It was a joy to return to Berbiton and the adventures of Isolde and Warren Wilby. Though the central whodunnit was a tad predictable, Bancroft’s imagination and pacing propel you to the end. I would read the most monotonous story ever conceived 100 out of 100 times if only I had Iz and Warren shepherding me through it.
